I like these guys a lot- I can see a few of their songs being remixed for clubs. It has a great 80’s pop vibe too…kind of like Kylie Minogue or vintage Madonna…

Alright. I’m going to stand alone on my opinion. I’m not crazy about this group. I’m really not. Like-able, sure. But the only thing I find to catch my ear is the 2nd is it over—and only if it were to start at the 45 second mark. I’m giving them 4 stars because I hear a ton of potential. But for some reason- the lyrics are throwing me off. I’m already picky about female lead vocals, and if the lyrics don’t stand out- I tune out.
I’m reminded of a Billy Joel interview where he said he writes his lyrics based on what vowels each tune calls for: i.e. “she’s always a woman” ooh ooh ooh ah eeh ooh fits very nicely with the tune.
I’m just not feeling the match here. But, again, I think it could get there easily and put me to shame.
As an addendum:
I don’t mean the lyrics don’t ever….what’s the write way to say this- sonically? fit? For the most part, the choruses seem to catch. But the verses are feeling like filler to me.
But hey- I’m new. And my ears may be tainted by the thousands of absolutely horrid things I’ve been listening to as of late.
Absolutely ready for prime time. I agree with Lana. Also a bit of Eurythmics vibe. I’m a sucker for a good concept album, which is dying artform and tough to pull off.
